研究：神經細胞似開關 可控制進食

大腦中有一群神經細胞具有類似「開關」的功能，能停止動物進食的行為。美國加州理工學院團隊日前發表於《自然：神經科學》期刊的研究，透過特殊雷射光刺激這群「開關」細胞，實驗鼠立刻完全停止進食；研究人員認為，這群細胞可能是治療暴食、厭食或肥胖的關鍵。

研究人員發現，實驗鼠在吃飽的時候，腦中部分神經細胞會處於極度活躍的狀態，若利用各種藥物，模擬全身乏力、噁心、苦味等動物會停止進食的狀況，這群細胞也會「活化」，顯示其牽涉快速降低食欲，及防止攝取過多食物的生理功能。

一般認為，暴食、厭食等問題，常與情緒有關；加州理工教授大衛安德森表示，這群開關細胞正位在研究已證實，與壓力、恐懼等情緒有關的「杏仁核」部位。他指出，未來研究重點為釐清人類大腦那些細胞具備類似功能，或可據此發展治療肥胖及其他飲食問題的方法。
