美國表態　支持香港按基本法實行普選

針對香港爭取真普選的聲浪，美國國務院公開表態，表示支持香港基本法及港人意願，實行普選。

美國國務院發言人柏莎琪（Jen Psaki）表示，相信獲得高度自治和法治的開放社會，對香港保持穩定繁榮非常重要，香港未來的行政長官，如果是按基本法最終目標的普選方式選出，認同度及合法性將會大幅提高。

另外，美國外交政策雜誌編輯費雪（Isaac Stone Fish）亦撰文表示，港人如真正普選特首，可能為北京帶來無數惡夢，因為民主有擴散性，香港如有真普選，北京將難向其它地方交代，故要出手阻止。他指北京當然可壓制香港，但必須謹慎行事，否則將與香港主流漸行漸遠。（大陸中心／綜合報導）
